Ten Thousand Villages State College
Organization
We provide opportunities for the community to learn about Fair Trade practices and our international artisans' sustainable environmental practices through recycling and locally sourced materials.
Ten Thousand Villages State College is a part of the international Ten Thousand Villages non-profit organization. We are proud that Ten Thousand Villages provides fair, safe working conditions for 20,000 artisans in 30 developing countries, that women and men receive the same fair wages, that 70% of our artisans are women supporting their families, and that we focus on the use of locally sourced, recycled and renewable materials in our products. We celebrate indigenous handmade crafts and ways to bring them to our local markets, to break the cycle of poverty in other countries. In State College, we partner with many community organizations to encourage and support intergenerational and international collaboration.
